Mainstream's energy conversion programs focus on developing products
that are more efficient or provide greater power density than today's
standards. Power capacities range from a few Watts (e.g. batteries)
to kilo-Watts (e.g. generators). Mainstream developed systems
based on a wide variety of energy-conversion cycles with energy
sources including electro-chemical, battle-field fuels, air, solar
and waste heat. We are also investigating methods of improving energy
conversion through the use of carbon nanotubes. Current research
is being performed for DOD and DOE for terrestrial, airborne and
space-based environments.
